ARCHITECTURE
Invisible House is an unexpected exploration in contrasts. It features a fully mirrored exterior which disappear in to the surrounding desert landscape, white at the same time, its angular dimensions offer a strikingly different appearance from the large, worn boulders that dot the area. The over-sized indoor pool flaunts its abundance in a seemingly barren land. It’s interior is sleek, stark, and cool, while just outside, it reflects the earth tones of the land beneath the expansive lavender and blue skies.
PEOPLE
Designed by film producer Chris Hanley and Tomas Osinski, a Frank Gehry collaborator, the minimalist design features a 100 foot indoor pool and a west-facing wall of sliding floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The entire wall opens to reveal the breathtaking expanse of wind-worn boulders, the desert brush and iconic trees, and red and purple shadows cast upon the rocks as the sun moves across the sky.”
Invisible House has been featured in countless music videos, television shows and dozens of publications worldwide, including Netflix, Robb Report, Architectural Digest, Washington Post, People, Daily Mail, Dezeen, and Maxim.
PLACE
Located just two hours southeast of Los Angeles and 10 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree lies one of the most unique and well-known homes in the world. The Invisible House, set on 90 acres, is the largest privately owned parcel of land abutting Joshua Tree National Park.
